The Importance of Being Creative ~

Creativity, could make a thing from nothing to something. From unreal to exist. Create something that could ease our problems in life and simplify human life. Without creative thinking, it might be a possibility that now we still live in “Rock Century”. Make a fire with rocks and there were no technology like handphone, moreover “Blackberry Messanger” which been teenagers “most need” thing nowadays.

In my opinion, the most creative person and the most creative company is…….

Ingvar Kamprad and IKEA!!!!

Ingvar Kamprad is my role model, my inspiration.

When you walk into a store purchase some furniture, you may not think about the person behind the curtain who actually made it. Who simplify your life with those things. Ingvar Kamprad is the founder and the developer of IKEA, worldwide furniture brand.

He’s entrepreneur career has started since he was a child. Kamprad began to develop a business selling matches to neighbors from his bicycle, and at the age of 17 years old, Kamprad’s father gave him a cash reward for his success in school. Kamprad took his money and created his own small company, which he call IKEA.

As Kamprad vision has no limits. He spent so much time and energy focused on maximizing his resources. He continues to expand IKEA and make it better each day. He refuses to accept his achievements and settle for the success he has achieved. Instead, he sees life as a continual process of setting goals and working tirelessly to make them a reality. Kamprad believes that the company exists not just to improve people’s lives, but to improve the people themselves. Everything Kamprad did could be traced back to his desire to meet his customer’s demands. So he lives to make his company’s better.

IKEA’s vision is to create a better everyday life for many people. Its business idea offers a wide range of home furnish with good design and at low price so that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. This is the idea of everything IKEA does, from product development and purchases to how they sell their products in IKEA stores globally. The focus of IKEA from the beginning is to make good products at low prices, with developing methods that are both cost-effective and innovative.

IKEA’s greatest invention was is the flat-pack design product. As IKEA’s company grow larger, the need of shipping products grow as much as their expansion around the world. This product idea was made from a simple mistake by a new employee of IKEA back in 1956. He try to figure out how to get a bulky wooden table to fit in to the car. Finally, he said “Let’s then pull off the legs and put them underneath”, this simple statement, has bring IKEA towards the flat design production for which it has become famous today.

IKEA’s flat-pack design product is one of IKEA’s innovations in furniture. Flat-pack furniture is fabricated in flat parts and designed to be easily assembled, the designers of IKEA’s flat pack product design it is for mass productions. The advantage to flat-pack furniture is that because is packed flat, it is space efficient, reducing shipping and storage costs, etc. It supports IKEA’s vision to make everything simple and lower the products price. The products are including all of IKEA’s type of furniture, which is : living room, bedroom, children furniture, kitchen appliances, textiles & rugs, etc. Those flat-pack products are table, cupboard, chair, etc.

As I said before that creativity could simplify human’s life, Ingvar Kamprad and IKEA both has successfully create something that could ease life’s problem. That’s why I acclaim them to be the most creative person and company.

And these are IKEA’s Innovation, Enjoy!
